On April 27th, 2017 the seventh grade class from Fairview South School will be taking coach buses on a one day excursion throughout the city of Chicago. We will be departing in the morning from school and be returning to Fairview around 3 pm.
Morning
-Students will arrive at Fairview at 7:15 am. We will gather in the in the Auditorium before departing,
-Students will board Coach Buses at 8:00 am and leave for the first part of our trip. Buses will leave promptly at 8 am, don't be late!
-At 9:00 am students will arrive at the Field Museum to begin their trip. The students will be working in groups to complete a photo scavenger hunt.
-Between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm, students will be eating lunch at the Siragusa Field Museum Cafe. Lunch will be included in the trip fees, for more information please click on the Lunch/Dinner tab on the above navigation bar.
Transportation
At 12:30 pm, students will gather and board the Coach buses to depart to Millennium Park.
Afternoon
The afternoon portion of our trip will take place in Millennium Park, Chicago.
-Students will arrive at 1:00 pm to Millennium Park.
Returning to Fairview
-The buses will arrive to Fairview around 3:00 pm.
-Students will have the opportunity to call and update our arrival time depending on traffic.
-Students may also take the Activity Bus at 4pm.
-Students will be able to walk home if they have indicated that on their permission slip, or go home with other families if they have arranged that as well.
What to Bring
-Because we will be doing a lot of walking and touring, we ask that students wear gym shoes and comfortable clothing.
-We also suggest that students bring layered clothing to accommodate fluctuating weather.
-Students will also have the opportunity to take many pictures, therefore a camera or phone is suggested as well.
-The Photo Scavenger Hunt at the Field Museum also requires at least one person per group to have access to a camera.
-Students will have the opportunity to purchase snacks from the vending machines, as well as souvenirs from the Field Museum, so we suggest students bring a small amount of money if they are interested in any of these opportunities.
-We ask that all students bring any medication, inhalers or EpiPens to be carried with them at all times.
